Bhubaneswar: Centurion University’s Gram Tarang has been recognized as the first e-automobile manufacturer in East and North-East of India by the government of India’s International Centre for Automotive Technology. The university is now licensed to  produce battery-operated rickshaws on a commercial basis.

Two students of the university,  Somnath Patnaik and Jakesh Sahoo, have been successful in this innovative enterprise venture.

President of the university, Mukti Kanta Mishra, said that the university is presently engaged in research to be able to manufacture several more products such as Electronic two-wheelers, Open Ambulance and Golf-carts within the next six months.
