BHUBANESWAR: -committee The state MSME principal secretary, LN Gupta said MSME, has expressed his displeasure over  poor sanction and disbursement of bank loans for PMEGP (Prime Minister’s Emplyment Generation Programme) in Odisha.

 

Presiding over the sub-committee meeting of State level Bankers’ Committee(SLBC) on MSME(Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises) & Skill Development, here on Wednesday, Gupta called upon the bankers to put an end to the sluggishness in financing the unemployed people under PMEGP.  He exhorted the bankers to analyse the cause of delay and speed up the sanction and disbursement of loans to beneficiaries. He fixed fresh targets for the banks to finance under the said scheme.

 

The meeting which was attended by state skill development & technical education secretary and Idco CMD, SK Singh, RBI general manager, SP Mohanty, UCO Bank general manager, Anil Kumar, and MSME additional secretary, BB Behera, discussed the revival & rehabilitation of sick MSME units, MSME cluster development, functioning of specialised MSME bank branches in each district of the state, progress in MUDRA loans, CGTMSE(Credit Guarantee Fund Trust for Micro & Small Enterprises) coverage, NPA (Non Performing Assets) recovery, skill development through FLCs(Finance Literacy Centres) and Vocational Training Institutions was held. The meeting decided that a report on the viability of the MSME clusters be prepared by the  district industrial centre (DIC) and the local banks byhe viability of the clusters to the MSME department by February 15, 2017.
