Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has prepared a supplementary budget of Rs9,829 crore for the year 2017-18. The supplementary budget is required to accommodate the additional expenditure required to fund the conversion of teachers block grant salary into grant-in-aid and the Rs100 crore corpus fund for the school children besides irrigation, rural management and social security .

The supplementary budget, which was approved by the state council of minister, here on Thursday,  would be placed in the winter session of the state assembly beginning from November 28.

The state finance minister, Sashi Bhusan Behera, said provisions for the additional expenditure that has become necessary would be incorporated in the supplementary budget.

The Odisha government had presented Rs 1.06 lakh crore budget for the 2017-18 fiscal.
