Bhubaneswar: Over 2500 Railway Bharat Scouts & Guides (RBSG)  volunteers from 16 zonal railways will participate in the 18th Jamboree to be hosted by the East Coast Railway (ECoRly) here from January 6 to 11, 2018. 

The scouts & guides, rovers & rangers, leaders & organisers will show case their scouting skills in the 6-day Jamboree.  

 Manju Ray, the chief personnel officer of ECoRly, who is also the state chief commissioner of RBSG of ECoRly said the ECoRly is organizing for the first time this mega event in Bhubaneswar where volunteers will learn and display their activities during any crisis and also exchange their culture, language, tradition, food habits, folklore and traditional dress along with social awareness.  The volunteers will also also conduct social awareness programmes through human chain, route march, swachh bharat skits/street plays  including flash mob to educate the community. In the evening, cultural programmes like traditional folk dances of different parts of the country will be performed, she added. 

Railway Board member staff  D. K. Gayen will inaugurate the Jamboree and the Odisha governor SC Jamir will grace the  occasion as the chief guest.
