Bhubaneswar: Odisha will become Manufacturing Hub of South Asia, said the  chief minister, Naveen Patnaik, here on Saturday.

“We are ceaselessly working towards developing the state in to a Manufacturing Hub of South Asia”, while addressing the Odisha Round Table of Business Standard newspaper. Stating that the state has been growing at a rate higher than the national average, he said industrial development is a core component contributing to this fast growth of the state. Odisha has been consistently ranked among the top three states in terms of live investments in India.

“As we target higher growth and rapid industrial development, my government has taken several proactive measures towards creation of a conducive environment for industrial development ,” he said while assuring , “My government is committed to provide all the requisite support and facilitation to achieve even faster industrial growth in the state.”

Stating that the Make-in-Odisha 2016 was an overwhelming success, Patnaik said, out of 124 investment intents received at the conclave, 75 proposals are at various stages of implementations.”
