Bhubaneswar: NTPC’s  Eastern Region II has recorded a growth in power generation of 7202.5 MU during Q3 of FY 2017-18 which is 8.1% more than the generation  of 6663.4 MUs recorded during the corresponding period last year, said a company spokesperson.

According to the spokesperson, the availability factor for the Eastern Region 2 projects also increased from 86.05% in Q3 of 2016-17 to 88.86% in Q3 of 2017-18, thus registering an increase of 3.8%.

NTPC’s  Eastern Region II  has two  power generating stations in the state of Odisha, Talcher Kaniha  (3000 MW) and  Talcher Thermal   (460 MW ),   both in Angul   district . In Assam,  NTPC has one power generation station (500MW).
