Bhubaneswar:The BJD MPs in the parliament would raise the issue of Mahanadi, Polvaram, Paddy MSP hike issues in the second phase of the budget session that is commencing from March 5, 2018.

The chief minister, Naveen Patnaik, chaired  a meeting of the BJD MPs at his residence Naveen Niwas on Saturday. .

BJD parliamentary party spokesperson Kalikesh Singhdeo said, the meeting decided that the party would raise the key issues including Mahanadi tribunal, Polavaram, and MSP of paddy in the parliament. “We will also discuss about  railways negligence to the state and the demand for creation of three new railway divisions in the state.”

He said that the party would make its stand clear by demanding Special Category State Status to Odisha, special package, and special assistance to the state particularly for KBK region.

The BJD would outreach Non BJP and Non-Congress political parties to for support on these issues, he said adding, BJD will continue to maintain equidistant from both BJP and Congress.

“The Centre is neglecting the state governments on many issues. The rights of the states are also ignored. We will try to take them on our side those parties that are facing Central negligence”, he added.
