Bhubaneswar: The union petroleum minister, Dharmendra Pradhan, Sunday dedicated Rs 1000 crore worth of projects related to his ministry at function held in Balasore.

The minister inaugurated the the Rs 586 crore Paradip, Haldia, Barauni, Bongaigaon & Guwahati Pipeline (PHBPL), Rs 400 crore Paradip-Balasore section of Paradip Haldia Durgapur LPG Pipeline (PHDPL),   Rs 8.30 crore capacity expansion of bottling plant through 2nd Carousal and the Rs 3.28 crore LPG Pipeline connectivity from Paradip Refinery by PHDPL  for bulk supplies and loading of TT(s) to nearby bottling plants.

Inaugurating the projects, the union minister said that the PHBPL Pipeline is acting as the energy highway to entire Eastern & North-Eastern region of India supplying crude oil to 5 refineries namely Paradip, Haldia, Barauni, Bongaigaon & Guwahati. Also in future it is envisaged to feed crude oil to Numaligarh refinery in the NE Region. This crude pipe line will reduce the positioning cost of crude at the above said upcountry refineries by about Rs 300-400 Cr per Annum.”

The IOCL executive director(SERPL), PC Choubey, chief general manager (SLC Oil Industry) Prtish Bharat, former MLA Pratap Sarangi and Remuna MLA Gobinda Chandra Das also attended the function.
