Puri: The Shree Jaganath Temple Administration (SJTA) Tuesday cancelled its tender and allowed all the television channels to telecast the rituals of world famous Ratha Yatra.

The SJTA chief administrator, Pradipta Mohapatra, said that all the TV channels would be allowed to telecast the world famous Ratha Yatra. But, he added that the channels would be asked to give a consideration money to the temple administration for the same. Mohapatra said that channels those would not go for commercialisation of the telecast by displaying advertisements would not be charged the consideration money.

The SJTA had invited bids from TV channels for exclusive right over telecast of the Ratha Yatra. Seven channels including Sadhana had submitted their papers. While the OTV had offered the highest Rs 54 lakh, the second highest bidder was MBC TV. Kanak TV was the lowest bidder with Rs 1.25 lakh.
