Bhubaneswar: As promised by the chief minister Naveen Patnaik during his poll campaign, the left out farmers are being covered under the Kalia( Krushak Assistance for Livelihood and Income Augmentation ) scheme, said the state agriculture minister Arun Sahoo, here on Wednesday. He said that over 50 lakh farmers have received their dues under Kalia till date

Sahoo, while speaking to media persons on the sidelines of a function at Krishi Bhawan here, said that all the eligible farmers would be get the benefit of the scheme as promised by the chief minister.

Dwelling on paddy procurement, Sahoo said the state government has procured 65 lakh tonnes of paddy as against the target of to procure 55 lakh metric tonne paddy this year’s agricultural season.
