Cuttack: The Odisha chief minister, Naveen Patnaik, said that the state government will promote table tennis in the state. He said as many as 200 locations in the state will be provided with table tennis tables and equipment. Regular coaching programmes with accredited coaches will be started at important district level centres to tap the potentials of young players in table tennis, he added.

Patnaik, while declaring the 21st Commonwealth Table Tennis Championship, here on Monday, said, “Odisha is fast emerging as a major hub of international sports events in India.” ” After hosting several international events including this one, we are poised to host many more sporting events in the coming days,” he added.
