Bhubaneswar: The Odisha chief minister, Naveen Patnaik, Friday deputed five IAS probationers for execution of development projects of Puri World Heritage City.

The five IAS officers of 2018 batch are Suryavanshi Mayur Vikash, Keerthi Vashan V, Dr Shubhankar Mohapatra, J Sonal and Bhuvnesh Devidas Patil.

The State government has earmarked Rs 500 crore for cleaning of the surrounding of the Puri Jaganath Temple and developing the area with a view to make Puri a beautiful heritage city of world class. The five probationers will assist Puri district collector and will remain in-charge of implementation of projects which include cleaning of the area, rehabilitation of the people, conservation of mutts and security of the temple.

The five officer today met chief advisor to CMO R Balkrishnan and secretary to CM’s- Transformation and Initiatives (5Ts) VK Pandian, who briefed them about their role and responsibilities.
