Bhubaneswar / Tensa (Odisha): TRB Iron Ore Mines of Jindal Steel & Power Limited (JSPL) has won the prestigious Mining Innovation Award for its efforts to ensure ecological balance in an environmentally sensitive Tensa valley of Odisha. The award was presented by The Indian Mining and Engineering Journal at a seminar held at Hosapete, Karnataka on Friday.

Pramod Kumar Patra, VP (Mines) received the Award on behalf of the company.

Patra said, “In mining sector there is always a scope to innovate. But the most important thing is to implement the innovation with utmost safety and zero harm to environment.”

Congratulating the JSPL ‘s Team at Tensa VR Sharma , Managing Director , Jindal Steel & Power said, “For JSPL Safety and Innovations in Operation is a continuous process to achieve Business excellence. The two-day national seminar on “Mining and Processing of Raw materials for Steel, Cement and Power” was attended by over 150 delegates drawn over 30 organisations across the country.

Amongst the dignitaries who deliberated in the National Seminar were  Dr Mukesh Kumar, Director, Steel Research & Technology Mission of India,  Dr H.S. Venkatesh ,  Prof VK Banik, Vice Chancellor of AKS University ,   Sri D. Sunil Kumar, GM-NMDC Ltd, Donimalai, Sri B.Ramesh Kumar, Ex-CMD, NMDC Ltd. and Dr Meda Venkataiah, Director, MSPL.
