Bhubaneswar: Dhiren Kumar Dhal became the new honorary secretary of Utkal Chamber of Commerce & Industries(UCCI), an apex body of industries and businesses in Odisha.

Election to the various posts of office bearers of UCCI was held, here on Saturday.

According to returning officer Ashok Kumar Agarwal, Dhiren Kumar Dhal got elected by defeating his rival Rajendra Nath Padhi by a wide margin of over 100 votes in a straight fight.

Similarly, there was a straight contest for the post of treasurer between Giridhari Lal Sharma and Ramesh Kumar Sahu. Sharma defeated Sahu by a margin of over 100 votes.

Contests were ensured for various posts of committee members as there were more candidates in the fray compared to the posts.

Bijay Samantray, Pawan Kumar Khandoi and W.Z.Khan were elected to SSI committee while Jyoti Prakash Das and Kishore Chandra Sahu were elected as members of Tiny Sector committee.

Asit Kumar Nayak, CV Padmarajan, Dilip Kumar Mishra, Gouranga Charan Sahu, Jayanta Kumar Sahu,Manoj Kumar Prusty, Prakash Kumar Mohanty, Radha Ballava Singh, Ranjit Kumar Sahoo, Saroj Kumar Ray and Sidhartha Sekhar Mohapatra were elected to the Small Trade & Service Committee.

Amresh Mishra, BNR Patnaik, Jayanti Jagdev, Karunakar Jena, Mahendra Kumar Nayak, Ramakanta Sahoo and Sukesh Kumar Chinchela were elected as professional members.

Saswata Patnaik was elected as vice-president unopposed.

Others who have got elected unopposed were Ashok Kumar Behera and MV Rao (Mega Scale), MK Gupta(Very Large), Asit Pradhan, Bhabtosh Sahoo, Prasant Satapathy, Subhasis Das(Large Scale), Ananda Prasad Malla, Arvind Kumar Sahoo, BVK Karthik, (Medium Scale), Dilip Kumar Tripathy, Himadri Keshri Patnaik, Kamala Kanta Tripathy, SL Gupta(Mega Trade & Services), Arbind Kumar Agarwal(Large Trade & Services), Ashok Kumar Mishra, Ashok Kumar Nanda, Aswani Senapati, Bijaya Ketan Mishra, Rabinaryan Panda, Rajinder Singh, Sidhartha Mohnaty (Medium Trade & Servies)
