Bhubaneswar: Odisha has registered an overall growth of 8.39% in revenue collections to Rs 32,097 during the April-December period of 2019 as compared to the same period in the previous year.

The State’s own tax has grown by 8.13 % to Rs 22,598 against Rs 20,898 crore while non-tax has registered a growth of 9 % to Rs 9498.17 crore.

The budget expenditure grew by 15% during the first three quarter ending on December 31,2019. The total spending achieved is Rs 82,201 crore against Rs 71,601 crore. The total expenditure is 60% of the total budgeted Rs 1.40 lakh crore. The total expenditure in social sector is Rs34,400 crore followed by Rs 11,250 crore in agriculture & allied sector, and Rs 9194 crore in infrastructure laying sector.

The present budget position was revealed by finance principal secretary Ashok Meena at all secretaries meeting held under the chairmanship of chief secretary Asit Tripathy, here on Friday.

Development commissioner Suresh Chandra Mohapatra, agriculture production commissioner Pradipta Mohapatra, and other additional chief secretaries and secretaries attended the meetings.
