Bhubaneswar: The Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar(XIMB), is going to host this year’s TEDxXIMB 6.0 on Sunday. The theme is ‘The Sisyphean Wheel: Unwinding Happiness’.

The plight of Sisyphus can be likened to our mundane, repetitive lives.However, we might just derive happiness from this never-ending loop. Only by acknowledging our struggle, and consciously choosing not to avoid the everyday monotony, can we be truly happy.To get a holistic view of the theme, several speakers from diverse backgrounds have been invited to share their thought-provoking interpretations and perspectives on the theme.Our heartfelt gratitude to our event partner Eventis by Rohit Mathur for his support in organizing the said event.

Mohan Kannan, lead vocalist of Agnee and also an alumnus of XIMB, is an individual who made his passion his full time career. Both a musician and a storyteller, his music is said to constitute the essence of his soul. Arun Bothra, a decorated IPS officer has worked on several high-profile cases, some of which have been made into movies, and has recently been appointed as CEO of CESU, Odisha, where he has been instrumental in changing the way the organization functions.

Anil Pradhan, a revolutionary educationalist, is the young founder of IPSFRI (School for Rural Innovation), a school aimed at imparting the joy of science, technology, and innovation to young rural students for free. He has won a number of accolades in the field of education. Fif Fernandes is co-founder of the MediClown Academy and a practitioner of medical clowningis proving every single day that physical and mental health go hand in hand, and works on making the medical profession more humane.

Amartya Bhattacharyya, a filmmaker, author, and artist; known for Runanubandha(2018), The Lost Idea (2018) and Mercy of God (2019). He has described his films as psychodrama. He is a man of many talents – a writer, actor, editor, painter, lyricist, and photographer. Another speaker is Neelima Mishra, an environmentalist who works as a full-time consultant to the Government of Odisha on monitoring and evaluation of government schemes and scaling up of evidence-based programmes. She is best known for her participation in the Climate Force Arctic Expedition and is also the founder of Ceiba Green Solutions.

The final speaker for TEDxXIMB 6.0 is Anirban Roy Choudhury, the founder of Forever Poetry, a tattoo studio in Kolkata. He calls tattooing a unity of ethics and aesthetics; and in a world filled with materialism, he seeks out harmony, poise, and clarity. His work is filled with minimalism, precision, and skill.
