Bhubaneswar: Tata Steel vice chairman -operation Rajiv Kumar has been elected as the new chairman of Cofederation of Indian Industries (CII) Odisha State Council.

The election for new office bearers of CII was held here on Wednesday.

Manish Kharbanda, Group Advisor, Corporate Affairs, Legal, CSR, & Sustainability, Jindal Steel & Power, has been elected as vice chairman.

Confederation of Indian Industry –CII celebrates its State annual day on Monday.

The daylong celebration was inaugurated by State industries and MSME minister Divya Shankar Mishra in the presence of CII Odisha State Council chairman Ranjan Kumar Mohapatra, vice chairman Pradipta Kumar Mohanty and.IDCO.CMD Sanjay Singh.

Minister Mishra said, “Our government is very pro Industry and now we are willing to open transparent single window to address all requirements of the industry houses. We provide the facility and we provide the infrastructure. At present scenario the biggest linked tool is human resource and the strongest tool is also human resource. Its up to us how to utilize the resource. With the resources like minerals, natural resources, skilled manpower, young talents we can be the best state in terms of industrialization and economy. it is very much achievable. We just have to think differently. The best destination for investment is Odisha. We all are working towards achieving the goal. Together we can do it and we will do it.”

Ranjan Kumar Mohapatra focused on the special membership drive that was taken as an initiative this year in which road shows were organized connecting mentors and membership induction programme on a regular basis to engage the members

Speaking on this occasion Sanjay Singh said, “IDCO has started developments with Industrial Park, Khurdha Food Park, then its Deras Food Park, Angul Aluminum Park, Paradip Plastic Park, Bhubaneswar Electronic Park, Bhubaneswar IT Park. All the statuary compliances have been obtained for these parks. Investors just need to get 2 approvals – building plan and consent to operate. Under IPR all the parks are declared as priority sector. Many foscal incentives are being provided by Odisha government and recently we are planning to expand the existing parks and to set up more such parks in Odisha. IDCO has floated RFP to study the industrial potential in all districts of Odisha. Five new food parks will be set up across Odisha. MSME parks in all 30 districts of odisha has been planned”.

The inaugural session was followed by round table on investment climate of sectoral industrial parks of Odisha with two panel discussions.
