Bhubaneswar: Odisha chief minister Naveen Patnaik has urged chief ministers of other States to take care of Odisha people stranded in their States due to nationwide lockdown.

Patnaik in letters written to chief ministers on Thursday has requested to direct the district collectors to take care of of Odias in their districts. He has assured that the Odisha government would bear the cost.

The chief minister has told his counterparts that Odisha would take care of the people of their States stranded in Odisha. The State would bear the cost, he has assured.

Many Odia migrant workers stranded in Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharastra and Gujarat have made fervent appeal to the Odisha chief minister by sending videos through social media to rescue them.

The Odisha government has formed a monitoring team with State home principal secretary Sanjeev Chopra and IG Police Operations Amitabh Thakur to coordination with various State governments.
