Bhubaneswar: Odisha chief secretary Asit Tripathy asked the district collectors to be prepared for a long battle against Coronavirus pandemic.

Tripathy, through a video conference on Wednesday, reviewed the ground situation at district level and at Panchayat level in the State on Wednesday.

He said that economic activities rural areas and factory production has to be initiated to provide cash in the hands of the people as the fight is going to be prolonged as it appears today.

Stating that migrants workers will come back to the State in large numbers after 3rd May, the chief secretary directed the district administration to make necessary preparation for their quarantine and food as per the guidelines.

Development commissioner Suresh Chandra Mohapatra, additional chief secretary and special relief commissioner Pradeep Jena, agriculture principal secretary Sourav Garg, panchyati Raj principal secretary Deo Ranjan Singh, finance principal secretary Ashok Meena and works secretary Krishan Kumar were present.
