Bhubaneswar: Odisha government is set open liquor bottling plants in the State.

The State excise commissioner, AK Manik, has the sought permission of the government for opening of the liquor plants. The commissioner on Saturday has written a letter to this effect to the excise principal secretary SK Lohani.

The commissioner has stated in the letter that the bottling plants needed to be opened now to meet the demands after the lock down is lifted. He has clarified the bottling plants can start operation with 50 % workforce abiding lock down guidelines. start operation.

There are 12 bottling plants, 5 breweries and 2 distilleries in the State which have closed from March 24 following the declaration of nationwide lock down by prime minister Narendra Modi.
