Bhubaneswar: Odisha government is going to train the migrant workers as Covid-19 volunteers.

The chief minister, Naveen Patnaik, has directed that the migrant workers be trained as Covid-19 volunteers after they completed their quarantine period. Patnaik has directed that a short certificate course be introduced for the purpose of the trainings. He suggested that the trained volunteers be engaged in a gainful manner.

The chief minister on Tuesday reviewed the Covid-19 management programs and economic activities in the State. The video conferencing was attended by chief secretary Asit Tripathy, chief advisor to CMO R Balakrishnan, and Police DGP Abhay besides other senior officers.

Patnaik said that the management of make-shift quarantine centres need to be improved as large number of Odia people are now returning to the State.
