Bhubaneswar: Odisha is a lead performer in Covid-19 management. This was known from a high level meeting on public health response to the Covid-19 held under the chairmanship of Central cabinet secretary Rajiv Gouba in which chief secretary Asit Tripathy, and additional chief secretary health & family welfare Pradeepta Kumar Mohapatra participated over video conferencing from Lokseba Bhawan, here on Thursday.
Review show that Odisha has been a lead performer in management of the global pandemic Covid-19. The rate of Covid test per million population in the State is 3029 against all India average of 2490. One positive case is found in Odisha out of around 84 sample tests against the national average of one case per 21 tests. The case fatality ratio in Odisha, as of now, is 0.42% against the national average of 2.86%.

Till today a total number of 1,39, 311 covid tests have been completed in the State. Recovery rate in Odisha is around 49% against all India average of 42%. In the recent week, number of daily recovery and discharge from Hospitals and TMCs is more than the positive cases found on same day, said additional chief secretary Mohapatra.

The wave of community participation through PRI and SHGs has been another achievement of Odisha. TMCs and quarantine centers are being managed at panchayat through active participation of the Sarpanch, elected representatives, SHGs and the people.

Special secretary health & family welfare Shalini Pandit, Covid-19 OSD to chief secretary Vishal Dev, managing director OSMCL Yamini Sarangi along with senior officers of the department participated in the VC.
