RSP Plate Mill Plates

Rourkela: Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) has bagged a number of export orders despite the gloomy market condition in the global market.

The Plant has recently completed export of 60,000 tonnes of special grade slap to China and 2,700 tonnes of plates from New Plate Mill to Vietnam.

RSP dispatched the 2,700 tonnes of plates on 5th June to Paradip Port from where it would be shipped to Vietnam.

It was on 25th May, RSP  bagged the order for ASTM A-36 grade plates from Dufferco S A, Vietnam in thickness 12 mm to 40 mm and in width of 2000 mm. In some cases the length requirement was of 6000 mm which was never made in New Plate Mill, earlier. However, with necessary modifications and adherence to stringent quality parameters, the entire consignment was rolled in New Plate Mill within the shortest possible time.

The Plant dispatched special grade slabs to China in two consignments. The dispatch of the first consignment of 29,314 tonnes of slabs was concluded on 6th May, 2020. The slabs were dispatched in 11 rakes to Vizag port from it were sent to Iangyin port of China.

The dispatch of 2nd consignment of 30,592 tonnes was concluded on 7th May, 2020. The slabs were set in 10 rakes to Vizag port from where it were shipped to to Zhangjiagang port of China.

 Earlier, in April, RSP had also sent 485 tonnes of 250 BR plates with 20mm thickness to Bangladesh by road through Dankuni Stockyard of CMO, SAIL.  

The RSP CEO, Dipak Chattaraj, said the Plant succeeded in finding buyers in the market with the help of Central Marketing Organisation of SAIL.
