Paradip (Odisha): Paradip Port chairman Rinkesh Roy Wednesday commissioned two projects relating to environment and cyclone resistance power supply system.

An auto sprinkling system inside harbour area for usage of water collected from sewage treatment plant (STP) was commissioned today. For this, storage sump has been constructed for collection of treated water from STP which will in turn be utilised in the sprinkling system.  Previously it was being done manually through tankers and this practice will be discontinued soon.

Taking further step to make the township disaster resistant, underground cabling system has been put in place in the port township and now in the harbour area it is being carried out.

Apart from this, large DG sets have been installed at different sub-stations, so that during natural disaster uninterrupted electricity and water supply in the port area will be ensured.
