Bhubaneswar: Odisha chief minister Naveen Patnaik Saturday inaugurated the transformation project of holy pond Bindu Sagar in the city.

Odisha government had signed an MoU with Indian Chemiclals Institute, Indian Oil Corporation in June 2020 to improve the water quality of as many as 20 holy ponds including the Bindu Sagar in the Ekamra Kshetra area of the city. Hydro-Dynamic cavitation technology developed by Indian Chemicals Technology (ICT) will engaged to transform these ponds.

While the State government will provide the infrastructure, the IOCL-ICT will engage the Hydro-Dynamic pumps.

Union petroleum minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Odisha works minister Prafulla Majhi, social security minister Ashok Chandra Panda, local BJP MP Aparajita Sarangi, IOCL chairman and ICT were present.
