Cuttack: The Odisha high court has directed the Indian Railways to allot rakes for coal supply to Central sector aluminium company Nalco.

The court,in an interim order, has directed the Railways to allot 4 rakes daily for carrying coal from Bharatpur mines to the Nalco captive power plant at Angul.

Nalco Officers’ Association has moved the high court seeking a direction as the plant faced serious coal crisis due to non-allottment of rakes or freight train for transportation of coal.

The high court has fixed April 25 as the next date for hearing.
