Bhubaneswar: Odisha chief minister Mohan Majhi Friday launched the reopening of Odisha Mining Corporation’s (OMC) Dubna iron ore mines at Barbil in Keonjhar district.
Gracing the 70th Foundation Day celebration of OMC, here on Friday, as chief guest the CM directed the OMC to set up an iron ore pellet plant in ita mines area.
The Dubna mines would produce 3 million tonnes of iron ore and 0.05 million tonnes of manganese per annum. The mines has a reserve of 25.77 million tonnes of iron ore and 2.6 million tonnes of manganese.
On this occassion the CM also inaugurated the electricity supply to Tiringi Pahada mines and Rengalbeda R. R Colony.
Odisha minister for steel & mines, Jena, development commissioner Ms. Anu Garg, steel & mines additional chief secretary and OMC chairman Surendra Kumar, and OMC MD Sudhansu Mohan Samal also graced the occasion.
