Bhubaneswar : Consultantacy major McKinsey Saturday fecilitated a high-level workshop here on the theme “Viksit Odisha for Viksit Bharat.”

The session was chaired by Ms. Usha Padhee, Principal Secretary, Commerce & Transport Department, and Housing & Urban Development Department.The workshop aimed to align Odisha’s developmental roadmap with the national goal of transforming India into a developed country by 2047.

McKinsey & Company, the strategic knowledge partner for the Vision Document, presented sample execution models, including a detailed plan for Sambalpur Municipal Corporation, showcasing how the vision will translate into on-ground action.

Ms. Usha Padhee emphasized the need for robust institutional capacity, data-driven governance, and strong collaboration among departments to ensure timely delivery and measurable outcomes. The workshop also introduced mechanisms like real-time dashboards, embedded Project Monitoring Units, and a Whole-of-Government approach for seamless execution.
To realize the vision of Viksit Odisha, both Departments have been entrusted with specific Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and assigned responsibilities across various developmental projects.
The workshop was attended by senior officers from the Commerce & Transport and Housing & Urban Development Departments, who shared insights on inter-departmental coordination and the role of infrastructure and urban transformation in shaping a developed and inclusive Odisha.
