Keonijhar/Sundargarh :ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India (AM/NS India), as part of its flagship Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative Project Trupti; inaugurated two solar-powered drinking water supply units at Belkundi and Motupadarvillages under Keonjhar and Sundargarh district respectively. These will provide access to safe and clean drinking water for the local communitiesthereby enhancing their health and wellness.
The newly installed drinking water unit at Belkundi village, Ward-2, Barbil Municipalitynear Thakurani mine, directly addresses the community’s need for reliable drinking water. Equipped with a 5000-litre storage tank, solar-powered pumping unit borewell, and five tap points, the structure will benefit over 220 nearby local community members.

The inauguration was attended by Laxman Mohanta, Ex-Councillor of Ward-2, Dr. Vikas Yadvendu, Head – CSR, AM/NS India, Uday Kumar Verma, Head- Security, AM/NS India,along with AM/NS India officials and enthusiastic community members.
Another drinking water unit was inaugurated at Motupadar village, under Malda Gram Panchayat of Koira Block. This solar-powered borewell system will serve more than 1 30 local community members, reducing the occurrence of waterborne diseases and nhancing quality of life. The inauguration was attended by Ajit Singh, Head – Pipeline Projects, Odisha, AM/ NS India along with other representatives from the company and local community members.
