Balasore: In a significant boost to regional power stability, TP Northern Odisha Distribution Limited (TPNODL) has successfully commissioned 32 MVA of additional network capacity in a record-breaking 48-hour window. T he rapid intervention comes as a major relief for over 27,000 households across Bhadrak Balasore, and Keonjhar districts, strategically timing the upgrade to combat the surge in demand typical of the peak summer months.The upgrades were executed at three key Primary Substations–Basudevpur, Nilagiri and Gambharia–serving over 27,000 consumers across Bhadrak, Balasore, and Keonjhar districts. At Basudevpur PSS in Bhadrak North Division, substation capacity was increased from 5 MVA to 8 MVA, delivering improvement in power quality and reliability for around 11,049 households in Barndua, Narasingpur, Bazar Area and Medical Area. Similarly, Nilagiri PSS in Balasore’s central electrical division was upgraded from 5 MVA to 8 MVA, meeting growing oad demands and ensuring stable electricity for Rajnagar and Nilagiri areas, positively impacting over 5,000 households. The most substantial enhancement was at Gambharia PSS in Keonjhar Division, where capacity was doubled from 8 MVA to 16 MVA, strengthening the distribution network for Keonjhar town and its surroundings, benefiting 11,378 consumers.With this upgrade, consumers are expected to have a reliable power supply during peak summer months, reducing outage risks due to load fluctuations. This infrastructure expansion establishes a robust network supporting the region’s energy demands and long-term growth. By completing these overhauls within a compressed timeframe, TPNODL has signaled a shift toward proactive grid management prioritizing consumer comfort during Odisha’s demanding weather periods
