Bhubaneswar: The Odisha AMNS India Kho Kho High- Performance Centre (HPC) teams made the state proud in the Kho Kho tournament by becoming Champions in the Girls category and securing runners-up position in the Boys category. Thirteen athletes of the Odisha AMNS India Kho Kho HPC represented at the recently held 7″ edition of the Khelo India Youth Games in Gaya, Bihar during May 4-9, 2025.

The Odisha Girls’ team included eight athletes from the HPC – K. Ramya, G. Nandini, Basanti Nag, Archana Pradhan, Harapriya Bhuyan, Lisarani Raita, Subhashree Mallick and Sabita Murmu while the Odisha Boys’ team included five athletes from the HPC – Sunil Patra, Kuna Behera, Siba Gunta, Aditya Das and Yashwant Yadav.

Showcasing their tactical brilliance and unbreakable team spirit, the Odisha Girls’ team defeated Maharashtra in a thrilling final. Their winning performance stood as a testament to their relentless purs uit of excellence and the power of dedicated training at the Odisha AM/NS India Kho Kho High-Performance Centre.

The Odisha Boys’ team fought valiantly to finish as Runners-up facing Maharashtra in the finals. Though they narrowly missed the gold medal, their performance displayed unmatched energy, strategic gameplay, and the hallmarks of champions in the making.

Adding to the pride of the HPC, Sharad Ghatage, an athlete from Kolhapur trained at the Odisha AM/NS India Kho Kho High Performance Centre, representing team Maharashtra clinched the Gold Medal in the boys’ category at the Khelo India Youth Games. His victory stands as a shining example of the national impact of the HPC which continues to nurture young talent not only for Odisha but for the Nation at large.

Another athlete of the HPC, Rahul had also represented team Delhi in the tournament. Dr. Vikas Yadvendu, Head CSR, AM/NS India said, “This achievement is a result of the determination and relentless efforts of our players and coaching staff. The Odisha AM/ NS India Kho Kho High Performance Centre has been instrumental in nurturing young talent from the grassroots.
