Bhubaneswar: Odishs Deputy Chief Minister and Minister of Energy Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo reviewed the Odisha Power Generating Corporation (OPGC), here on Thursday.
OPGC is a key player in the energy landscape of the State, catering to over 30 percent of the State’s load demand. In addition, it also establishes, operates and maintains large thermal power generating stations.
Deputy Chief Minister Singhdeo has directed to take appropriate steps to strengthen and upgrade the data management, operational security infrastructure of OPGC and to upgrade its internal security system.
Proposals have been made to secure it through cloud computing, artificial intelligence and high-end technology. In this context, advice is being sought from technical security providers.
A presentation on the subject was made to Deputy CM by RailTel company. The presentation was attended by the Principal Secretary Vishal Kumar Dev, OPGC Managing Director Kedar Ranjan Pandu, Financial Advisor and Additional Secretary Devidutta Tripathi, and RailTel officials.
