Bhubaneswar: As part of the nationwide Vitiyagyan Mela Week 2025, celebrated from August 17 to 23 under the Financial and Tax Literacy Directorate of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), the Bhubaneswar Branch of the Eastern India Regional Council (EIRC) of ICAI organized a Financial and Tax Literacy Drive at the Department of Commerce, Rama Devi Women’s University on Wednesday.

CA Mahendra Kumar Sahoo, Chairman of the Bhubaneswar Branch, and CA Soumya Sunil Sahoo, Treasurer and EICASA Chairman, emphasized the significance of financial and tax literacy in today’s economic environment.

During the keynote session, CA S.K. Abu Saqueeb discussed “Identifying and Preventing Financial Fraud,” educating students about common fraud practices and preventive measures.

The event was attended by Dr. Sabat Kumar Digal, Head of the Department of Commerce, along with faculty members and over 200 students. Dr. Digal praised ICAI’s efforts in raising awareness among the youth about financial discipline and responsible taxation.
