Bhubaneswar : The Odisha goverenment and the Oil India Thursday stressed on fast tracking the Compressed Bio-gas (CBG) Plants projects in the State.
A delegation team of Oil India Ltd. led by its CMD Dr Ranjit Rath and CGM Santanu Kumar Saikia, and OGEL Rajeev Kumar Tamuli met Odisha Housing & Urban Development Principal Secretary Ms. Usha Padhee, here on Thursday and discussed on the progress of six Compressed Bio-Gas (CBG) plants being developed across Odisha.
The Oil India delegation expressed confidence in achieving key milestones and reaffirmed its commitment to partnering closely with the Department.The meeting decided to have an agreement to fast-track coordination between Oil India and urban local bodies so that the CBG plants can be commissioned in a time-bound manner and contribute meaningfully to the State’s green-growth agenda.
The meeting discussed project timelines, readiness for commissioning, and integration with municipal waste systems to ensure steady feedstock supply. Both sides stressed the importance of converting urban waste into green energy as part of Odisha’s broader clean-energy and circular-economy vision.
Ms. Padhee underlined the Government’s focus on promoting sustainable waste-to-energy models that reduce landfill burden and create local economic value.
