Bhubaneswar: Tata Power-led Odisha Discoms celebrated the ‘Nua Arambha – New Beginning’ initiative on the occasion of International Women’s Day. The programme aims to support women who wish to restart their professional journey after a career break.

Now in its second season, the initiative continues to create meaningful opportunities for women professionals to restart their careers and contribute to the power distribution sector in Odisha.
As part of the initiative, seven women professionals have been on boarded across different roles and professional profiles in the four Odisha DISCOMs, marking an important step towards strengthening gender diversity within the organisation. The programme recognises their determination and provides them with the platform and support needed to confidently restart their careers.The event also served as a platform to acknowledge the resilience and commitment of these women professionals while inspiring more women to take the step towards returning to the workforce.
The programme was graced by Dr. Monica Singhania, Professor, Faculty of Management Studies, Delhi, and Director on the Boards of TPNODL and TPWODL; Gajanan Kale, Chief – Odisha Distribution Business; Arvind Singh, CEO, TPCODL; and Shyam Sunder Choudhury, Chief BHR.
Speaking on the occasion, Gajanan Kale said, “At Tata Power, we strongly believe that diversity and inclusion are key drivers of organisational growth and innovation. The re-entry of woman professionals into our organisation through initiatives like ‘Nua Arambha’ inspire us to continue building a workplace that supports equal opportunities and empowers women at every stage of their professional journey.”
Dr. Monica Singhania appreciated the determination of the women professionals who have chosen to re-enter the workforce and commended Odisha Discoms commitment in building an environment that supports women’s professional growth, learning and leadership. “
