Bhubaneswar: ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India (AM/NS India) as part of its CSR initiatve Daksh imparted digital skill training to 800 youths across locations in Paradip, Keonjhar, Barbil and Kendrapara. Implemented in partnership with Nasscom, the program culminated in the successful completion of intensive digital skill training in IT/ITES trades.
The trainees received technical and soft skills training, industry mentorship, and workplace exposure during 225 hours of training. The participants earned certifications in specialized job roles such as Domestic Data Entry Operator and IT Helpdesk Attendant. Till date in Odisha, a total of 1,895 students have been trained across the four locations as part of the initiative. Of these, 1153 students have already secured placements in reputed organisations including Tatwa, Nija Manpower Services, Techbridge, VGM, Amazon and Randstad, demonstrating the program’s strong impact on livelihoods.
In Paradeep, the event was graced by Ajit Kumar Uttaray, District Skill Development & Employment Officer, Jagatsinghpur as chief guest along with Devendra Rout, Sarpanch, Nuagarh while in Barbil, Fasihul Hasan, Labour Enforcement Officer, Barbil graced the occasion as Chief Guest. The dignitaries addressed the trainees and applauded their efforts and dedication in achieving this certification. They also commended AM/NS India for providing a need based platform and upskilling the youth, thereby improving their employability.
In Paradeep, the event was graced by officials from AM/NS India including C.H. Hari Prasad, Plant Head, Paradeep Pellet Plant, SPL, Paradeep Port, Debashish Swain, Lead-CSR along with Seshdata Sutar, State Head, Nasscom.
In the Barbil event, officials from AM/NS India including Indrakant Saha, Mines Manager, Thakurani, Uday Verma, Head-Security, Pramod Acharya, Welfare Officer, Thakurani Mines, Arun Agrawal, Lead-CSR had joined the ceremony.
In Keonjhar, the event witnessed presence of officials from AM/NS India including Jai Kisan Sharma, Head-Logistics, Ajit Singh, Head – Tailing Storage Facility and Pipeline, Banaj Khatua, Lead-HR and Lalit Biswal, Lead-CSR, along with trainees and community members.
