Bhubaneswar: Neelachal Ispat Nigam Limited (Ninl) Friday bagged “Kalinga Safety Award” in the 8th Odisha State Safety Conclave. The steel manufacturing company in the state got the award in gold category for best safety performer of the year 2016.
The Award has been instituted by Institute of Quality & Environment Management Services (Iqems) and Institute of Public Enterprises.
Ninl joint managing director S B Jagdale received the award from Odisha governor S C Jamir at a ceremony held here.
Ninl, promoted jointly by Central-sector star trading company MMTC and Odisha government’s Ipicol and Omc, owns a 1.1 million tonne iron and steel plant at Kalinga Nagar in Odisha’s Jajpur district. The plant manufactures steel billets, pig iron and lam coke.
