Bhubanesewar: World renowned osteopath of Denmark Stanley Rosenberg Tuesday addressed a national conference on Vegus Nerve : New Strategies for Autonomic Balance & Social Engagement, organised by the Sri Sri University in its campus at Naraj near Cuttack on Tuesday.

Stanley  spoke extensively on the affect of Vagus Nerve- the 11th cranial nerve on the well-being and how to get cured from auto-immune diseases. He taught few techniques how to treat the Vagus.

The former director of AIIMS, New Delhi, Dr.VinodaKochupillai, who is an oncologist,  spoke on the effect of Sudarshan Kriya on cancer patients and other disease conditions. She taught on Mind-Body synergy with the help of the breathing techniques.

The conference was inaugurated by  SCB Medical College & Hospital dean and principal Dr.Sidhart Das. The SCB Medical College  superintendent Prof ShyamaKanungo, vice chancellor Dr.Nandlal and director operation  Narendra Lamba graced the conference as guests of honour.

Around 300 medical professionals from state and outside the state from the field of Allopathy, Ayurveda, Physiotherapy, Psychology, Yoga and Naturopathy participated in the conference where they experienced both theoretical and practical knowledge on vagus nerve.

Dr.MonikaPathania, who runs a life style clinic in AIIMS, Rishikesh, discussed about improving Vagal tone through meditation practices. Dr.Surya Ramesh M.D ,Naturopath, Sri Sri Ayurveda Hospital,Bangalore spoke on the effect of sun and Vitamin D on human life. She has researched on women labourers and have recommended the solutions to health challenges.

The Osteopathy department of the university organised the national conference under the stewardship of Osteopath Juan Gullion, Dr Sandhya Sadana, Dr DeepthaPandala.
