Bhubaneswar: The Startup Odisha Initiative has recognized 266 startup ventures in the state.

This was revealed at the 9th meeting of the Task Force of Startup Odisha  held under the chairmanship of MSME additional chief secretary, LN Gupta, here on Thursday.

The Task Force meeting sanctioned the Product Development & Marketing Assistance of Rs.10 lakhs
each to  Medtel Healthcare and Maiestas Technologies. The Medtel Healthcare, which  is working in the one of digital pharmacy/healthcare, has already got an equity investment from DFID. The Maiestas Technologies is working in the area of Industrial LED manufacturing.
The Task Force also considered and sanctioned ‘ Monthly Assistance’ in favour of 4
startups — Basic Trip Life (hospitality and travel), Captivating Epicure (e-meat delivery), Forestica Booty (herbal products) and Serene Design & Marketing (innovative designer products based on bell metal, brass, textiles etc.). Two of these startups –Basic Trip Life and Serene Design & Marketing are led by women entrepreneurs. With these benefits, the number of startups assisted under Startup Odisha has gone up to 36 given total 46 benefits.
The Task Force also accorded recognition to two new incubators namely, SSU Innovations of Sri Sri University and Srusti Academy Development Foundation of Srusti Academy of Management. With these, the number of incubators approved under the Startup Odisha has gone up to 9.
CEO IED S Sahu, director IMMT S Basu, finance department additional secretary PK Nanda, joint secretary AK Nayak,  IIT Bhubaneswar Y.G.Bhumkar, STPI director M Panda, TiE president Debasish Pantaik, MD Tatwa Technologies Ayaskanta Moahanty and  Luminous Infoways president Jayashree Mohanty attended the meeting.
