Bhubaneswar: The Odisha chief minister, Naveen Patnaik, disclosed that investment proposals to the tune of Rs 4.19 lakh crore has been received during the Make in Odisha Conclave 2018. He said that total intents have been received across 15 diversified sectors with a potential to generate 5.91 lakh additional jobs for the people of Odisha.

The big six proposals are of Haldia Petrochemicals Rs 70,000 crore, JSPL Rs60,950 crore, MCL Rs58,797 crore, Taiwans Rs 43,ooo crore and SAIL Rs 41,040 crore. FDI proposals to the tune of Rs46,650 crore received during the Conclave. While a Japanese company expressed interest to invest Rs2000 crore in food processing sector to generate 11,430 jobs, a Thai company proposes to invest in shrimp culture. A Deutsche company and aTaiwani corporate house have also evinced interest for investment in the state.

Out of total 183 proposals

Mineral, metal and downstream sector  received 53 proposals of total Rs2,36,435 crore and employment generation of 1,88,635, petro-chemicals, fertilisers, chemicals, plastic sector 37 proposals of Rs1,35,309 crore and 73,205 jobs, industrial parks received 6 proposals of Rs8432 crore and 1,41,800 jobs while the logistic and transport sector  received Rs 19,124 crore worth of proposals.
