Cuttack: The High Court Bar Association Wednesday called off its cease-work strike. The lawyers will resume their works from tomorrow bringing an end to  78-day impasse in the court works.

The Association had given a state-wide cease work strike protesting against the police brutality on advocate Debi Prasad Patnaik. This, in fact, led to a face off between the lawyers association and the police association.

The Bar Association decision came following unconditional apology tendered by the two police constables and havildar in the High Court.  Justice Chittaranjan Das, while hearing a petition filed by victim lawyer Debi Prasad Patnaik, directed the police to prepare a guideline in this regard to avoid such clash in future.
