Rourkela: In a music concert, ‘Tum mujhe yoon  bhula na paoge’, organized here at Max-Mueller Bhavan on Saturday, the talented singers of ‘Sangeet Tarang Music Club’ of the city paid rich tributes to the legendary Bollywood singer, Mohammed Rafi. 

The RSP DGM(pr) & CoC, Ramendra Kumar, graced the occasion as chief guest and paid floral tribute to Rafi, the immortal playback singer who has  carved a niche with more than 7,000 songs, in different genres, in his repertoire.

            The show opened with ‘Kar chale hum fida jaan-o-tan sathiyon’, a patriotic number from the film ‘Haqeeqat’ presented by the artists to pay homage to the Kargil Martyrs. It was followed by a heart touching timeless classic ‘Jaane Walo Jara’ from the film Dosti. Thereafter, the theme song of the concert ‘Tum mujhe yoon bhula na paoge’ , an all time Rafi hit from the film ‘Pagla Kahin Ka’ was presented.   Other popular songs like Kya Hua Tera Wada, Dard-e-dil, Jhilmil Sitaron Ka, Kitna Pyara Wada, Gulabi Aankhey, Aaja Tujhko Pukare Mere Geet, Pukarta Chala Hun Main, Le Gayi Dil Gudiya Japan Ki, Sathiya Nahi Jana Ki Jeena Lage, Janewalo Jaraa made the   evening  a musical  treat with the audience yearning for more. The singers who presented the mellifluous numbers were Nibedita Behera, Sonali Tripathy, Snehalata, Itee Pattnaik, Nayak, Santosh Das, Satya Mohanty, Tapan Sarangi, Satyanjay Tripathy, Basant Tandi, Jagannath Sahu, Suneet, Rajender Agrawal, Sukhpal Singh, Pradeep Mohanta, Basavdutta Mohanty, Madhavi Kumar and Archana Satpthy.  Gazala Firdous and Himanshu Mohanty anchored the show.
