Colombo: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has suffered a big setback as Sri Lanka’s cricket team refused to play test matches in Pakistan.

The PCB was first confident that the Sri Lankan Cricket Board would send the team to Pakistan to play the Test match. But, the Sri Lanka Cricket Board has now expressed its inability to play Test matches in Pakistan on security reasons.

The SL team has agreed to come to Pakistan after two years, but only to play limited-over matches.

Sri Lanka’s sports minister Harin Fernando said that, they are not in a position to send their team to Pakistan for two Test matches. Although the team will stay in Pakistan for eight days, where they will play the ODI and T20 series but will not play a single Test match in Pakistan due to security reasons. Both the Test matches will be held in the UAE.

The Sri Lankan team played the T20 match in Lahore, Pakistan in 2017. The Sri Lankan cricket team visited Pakistan for the first time since the 2009 terror attack on their bus.
