Bhubaneswar: At a time the ‘Team Mo Sarkar’ of Odisha government is making surprise visits to various district headquarter hospitals to take stock of the ground realities, the chief minister, Naveen Patnaik, has announced infrastructure projects for the three district headquarter hospitals in the tribal dominated Koraput, Malkangiri and Nabarangpur besides the Lakshman Nayak Medical College at Koraput.

Patnaik’s package came following the receipt of reports from the Team Mo Sarkar which first visited the district hospitals of Koraput, Malkangiri and Nabarangpur besides the Lakhmana Nayak Medical College at Cuttack.

“As a follow up to the first day of Mo Sarkar team visit, based on patient feed back and discussion with doctors government in approving the following support..”, Patnaik has said .

The bed strength of Koraput district hospital will be increased to 250 while that of Malkangiri and Nabarangpur district hospitals would be enhanced to 200 each. The Koraput medical college will increased to 700 in two years time followed by a detailed planning for a composite hospital with 500 beds.

The three district hospitals will have attendant rest sheds. Doctor accomodatioin and transit home will built at Malkangiri and bus service would be introduced from Mottu to Malkangir.

Koraput district hospital will get staff quarter and two ambulance. Similarly, Koraput will get 2 ambulances and Nabarangpur will get three ambulances and three mahaparayan vehicles.

Koraput medical college will be 5 ambulances and three mahaparayan vehicles.

The chief minister has sanctioned Rs 15 lakh for four Rogi Kalyan Samities from the CM Relief Fund for the welfare of the patients.

The Team Mo Sarkar is going to visit 15 districts to check the ground realities in health services sector. Led by 5Ts secretary VK Pandian, the team has already visited about a dozen districts by now. Chief secretary Asit Tripathy, development commissioner Suresh Mohapatra, principal secretary finance AK Meena, director National Health Mission Shalini Pandit, health joint secretary Yamini Sarangi, health joint secretary Poonam Guha Kumar, senior officers of CMO Rupa Rosan Sahu, Dilip Mohanty, DS Kutte Aditya Mohapatra, Ritarani Mohapatra have become part of the Team Mo Sarkar.
