Bhubaneswar: The united front of Central trade union has opposed the government’s move to privatise Nilachal Ispat Nigam Ltd.(NINL).

The leaders of INTUC,AITUC, HMS,CITU, AIUTUC and AICCTU told a presser, here on Saturday, that the move to privatise the NINL be stopped. They demanded that the NINL’s 1 million tonne steel plant in Odisha’s Jajpur district be run under public sector ownership. They urged the State government and the Central government to direct IPICOL and MMTC, the major stake holders to run the plant.

Trade union leader Ram Chandra Khuntia, Souribandhu Kar, Kishore Jena, Jogendra Tripathy, Krushna Chandra Patra, Bishnu Charan Mohanty, Jaysen Mehera, Mahendra Parida, Ramakrushna Panda, Madan Mohan Dhal, Purna Chandra Behera and Radhakanta Sethi were present.

The Nilachal Bancha United Forum represented by Ranjan Nayak, Suresh Pradhan, Raj Kishore Mahanta, Manoranjan Mahanta, Debendra Das and Jiban Mishra announced that a protest Dhara will be organised in support of their demands.
