Bhubaneswar: A forest officer in Odhisa has been suspended for allowing villagers carrying a wild crocodile in the carrier of a bike.

The deputy ranger of Digapahandi in Ganjam district was found encouraging villagers in carrying a crocodile tied in the back side of a motor cycle. The crocodile had strayed into paddy field near Talasingh village.

The Berhampur Regional Conservator of Fores Prasant Kumar Mishra has suspended the deputy ranger Pramod Kumar Khadgaray for not observing the SoP while transporting the crocodile. Disciplinary action is also expected against some other forest
