Bhubaneswar : Talcher Fertilizer Plant to go for production by December 2027.
The Odisha Chief Secretary Ms. Anu Garg has put the project on fast track with an aim to commission it by December 2027.
Chairing a review meeting regarding the progress made in the implementation of the plant, here on Friday, the Chief Secretary has directed the concerned officials to remove all the hurdles in setting up the project.
Additional Chief Secretary, Industries, Home, Hemanta Sharma, OPTCL CMD Bhaskar Sharma were present.
The OPTCL has assured that the work of executing of 220Kv line for power supply would be completed by this year end. Similarly, the work of laying a 33 Kv line, and establising a railway siding would be expedited.Clearing of encroached land with disbursement of compensation to the displaced families would be completed within the targeted time.
This project is being monitored by the Prime Minister’s Pragati Platform.
Talcher Fertilizer Ltd. is a joint venture by Central sector Coal India Ltd., GAIL (India) Ltd., Rastriya Chemicals & Fertilizers Ltd., and Fertilizer Corporation of India.
The plant will produce urea by using domestic coal through coal gasification route. This would not depend on imported gas.
