Bhubaneswar : Bhubaneswar (llT-Bh) signed an MoU with the Electronics and Computer Software Export Promotion Council of India (ESC) during the Innovators Meet titled “From Temples to Tech: Odisha’s Leap into Global Electronics and IT Markets”, held here on Saturday.
Sabyasachi Hota, Registrar of IlT-Bh, signed the MoU on behalf of the institute in- the presence of Dr. Mukesh Mahaling, Odisha Minister of Electronics and IT, who graced the event as the chief guest.
The inaugural ceremony was presided over by Gurmeet Singh, Executive Director, ESC. Veer Sagar, Chairman, ESC; Sandeep Narula, Chairman, Global Outreach, ESC; Dr. Ashwini Kumar Rath, Chairman, ESC-Eastern Region; Manas Panda, Managing Director, OCAC & Special Secretary, Electronics and IT; and Vishal Kumar Dev, Principal Secretary, Electronics and IT, also graced the occasion.
The MoU signifies a strategic collaboration between IllT-Bh and ESC to jointly promote innovation, entrepreneurship, and capacity building in electronics and IT. Expressing his enthusiasm, Prof. Ashish Ghosh, Director, IlIT-Bh, stated: “This is a wonderful moment for our institute. The collaboration will help us grow further in the areas of innovation, incubation, and research & development. We expect this partnership to eventually lead to the establishment of a Centre of Excellence in modern technological innovation that will serve society in a meaningful way.
Adding to the sentiment, Dr. Lipika Das, (Chair, HRDC), IIIT-Bh, remarked: “This MoU presents an excellent platform for our students, unlocking a world of opportunities for our bright, talented, and aspiring entrepreneurs. It is a milestone in shaping a brighter future for our students and for the nation.
The event was attended by a vibrant audience including startup founders, innovators, investors, and technology enthusiasts, all eager to explore emerging opportunities for partnerships and growth in the digital economy.
Students from IllT- Bh’s E-Cell and media team also participated enthusiastically, reflecting the institute’s dynamic and forward-thinking student community. This collaboration is envisioned as a catalyst for placing Odisha firmly on the global map of technology innovation and export.
