Bhubaneswar: In a landmark step towards advancing healthcare innovation and promoting clinical entrepreneurship, AIIMS Bhubaneswar signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) Thursday with KIIT-Technology Business Incubator (KIIT-TBI) and Bhubaneswar City Knowledge Innovation Cluster (BCKIC) Foundation.The collaboration aims to create a robust platform for developing, validating, and deploying healthcare technologies, and accelerate healthcare innovation growth and attract healthcare startups to Odisha. It will also help to establish joint Centres of Excellence (CoEs) in healthcare, diagnostics, and digital health.
The MoU signing ceremony was held at AIIMS Bhubaneswar in the presence of Prof. (Dr.) Ashutosh Biswas, Executive Director, AIIMS Bhubaneswar, and Dr. Mrutyunjay Suar, CEO, KIIT-TBI & Chairman, BCKIC.
Dr. Ashutosh Biswas said, “This partnership will position AIIMS Bhubaneswar as a national translational innovation hub, fostering medical product development, technology advancement, effective IP management, and boosting clinical entrepreneurship.”
Through this MoU, AIIMS Bhubaneswar, KIIT-TBI, and BCKIC will jointly work towards, innovation & Startup Programmes, Bootcamps, regulatory workshops, and startup–investor roundtables. Also, Healthcare Technology Validation like Real-world testing of telehealth platforms, AI-based diagnostic tools, and remote monitoring devices, will also be there. Similarly, skill development and entrepreneurship, clinical innovation, technology transfer, and incubation of healthcare startups, will be promoted.
A CoE will be established with high-end diagnostic tools, clinical validation pathways, and advanced research facilities.
