Bhubaneswar: A high-level Canadian delegation, led by High Commissioner of Canada to India,Christopher Cooter, visited the corporate headquarters of National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO), here on Friday, during his maiden visit to the city.

Christopher Cooter held discussions with Nalco CMD Brijendra Pratap Singh in the presence of Dr. Tapas Kumar Pattanayak, Director (HR), Anil Kumar Singh, Director (Commercial), and Pranab Jyoti Nath, CVO. The discussions focused on opportunities for strategic collaboration in the area of critical minerals, sustainable resource development, and future expansion plans.

Both sides exchanged views on strengthening cooperation in the mining and metals sector and explored potential avenues for long-term engagement aimed at reinforcing Canada–India economic and industrial ties.

The senior diplomat Cooter was accompanied by his wife, Ms. Karen Joan Blumenschein. Other members of the Canadian delegation included Arjun Kumar Dutta, Trade Commissioner and Rohit Shukla, Political-Economic and Public Affairs Officer, High Commission of Canada.
